Mission Statement
Checkerboard was founded in 1979 to document, through the medium of film and video, individuals who have made important contributions to the American Arts.
Subject
Our films cover such subjects as architecture, painting, sculpture, dance, literature, music and photography.
Audience
Our audience includes the following:
- Schools, Universities, Museums, and Libraries
- Public and Cable Television
- Film and Video Festivals
- Collectors
Annual Spring Benefit
Tickets available by phone (212) 759-2056 for Checkerboard's Annual Spring Benefit, on the evening of Wednesday May 14th. This year we will be screening our new film series, "Landmarks in 21st Century American Arcitecture."
- The screening will be held at 7:00 p.m. sharp at the Florence Gould Hall, Alliance Francaise, 55 East 59th Street.
- A reception and dinner will follow at 8:15 p.m. at the Racquet and Tennis Club, 370 Park Avenue, between 52nd and 53rd Street.
